Today we'll complete our review for Unit 2 and I will answer any questions you have. Please remember to not only go through the review as you study, but also look at the notes we took in class. You will need to know the conversion factors for dimensional analysis (ex. 1000 m = 1 km), the equation for density, and how to convert between Celsius and Kelvin temperatures. Study! Unit 2 Review Answers Tuesday, 9/27 Unit 2 Test is today! Wednesday, 9/28 4th block finished up their Unit 2 test today. Most of 6th block attended the play, so they will finish up their tests tomorrow. Thursday, 9/29 4th block will start Unit 3. This is an incredibly short unit with 4 targets total. We'll take notes over the first three targets today. Unit 3's focus is Atomic Structure. 6th block will finish their test. Friday, 9/30 4th block will practice Unit 3 problems in class, and 6th block will take notes over Unit 3 and do the practice problems for homework. Next week is Bullying Prevention Spirit Week. Wear orange on Monday!

Today we're going to practice more with sig figs, then we're going to complete a target check about scientific notation and significant figures. Tuesday, 9/13 We're going to practice metric conversions. Wednesday, 9/14 We're going to take notes on density and practice density problems. Thursday, 9/15 More density practice! Friday, 9/16 We're going to take a target check over metric conversions and density and then take notes on temperature scales. Tuesday, 9/6
I hope you enjoyed your day off yesterday! Today we're going to finish watching Hunting the Elements, and we're going to make sure we have all the questions answered that go along with the video. Wednesday, 9/7 Today we're going to begin Unit 2 and complete a lab about measurement. Thursday, 9/8 We're going to begin our notes and practice for Unit 2. Today, we're going to learn about qualitative and quantitative measurements, scientific notation, accuracy, precision, and percent error. You will practice putting numbers into and taking them out of scientific notation. Friday, 9/9 You're going to take notes on significant figures, and then you're going to practice determining the correct number of significant figures in measurements and how many significant figures to keep during calculations. |
